Antique Victorian Black Mourning Cameo of Vulcanite, Goth, Art Deco, Full Face Forward w/ Wheat & Crown in Hair Brooch/ Pendant 150 Yrs Old.
In 2017 the US mint has released a commemorative 0. gold coin that will feature lady liberty as a black woman; the first time Lady Liberty is shown black in 225 years.
I am very Pleased to be able to offer such a rare lovely! A truly beautiful cameo featuring large face forward raised 3/4" (see last photo)., with Wheat Hairband & Crown.
This antique cameo itself if made of Vulcanite. Vulcanite of rubber & sulfur was Developed by Charles Goodyear (1800–1860) . This material can be molded when warm & cool becomes hard.
This cameo is 150 years old. It is not mint. At some point the original brooch clasp was removed. If you hold it to the light you can see the holes that held it. I have added a new brooch/ pendant clasp.
I have included a black 24" plastic link chain, no clasp.  It looks like the 1930 celluloid chain link necklaces; it is not. I don't think anyone will notice the difference unless you tell them.
This is lovely Cameo is 2 1/8" x 2 1/8"., The Vulcanite cameo has been molded high raised relief.
The nose & chin are NOT damaged, just shinier than rest of face, as they protrude more & the matt look has worn off do to age. so, they at perfect shape, just worn shinier.
These pictures at magnified many times for you to see details that are not discernable to the human eye when wearing.
I washed off surface dirt of this old item; but did not get dirt out of crevices. This 150 year old cameo needs a good cleaning front & back.
There is a tin substance on back from original mold & some ground in dirt in background on front. This is a beautiful cameo.
