Built from 1983 through 2004, the KX 500 is considered by many to be the best big bore two strokes ever built. With Kawasaki's power (KIPS) valve, these bikes put their big power to the ground.

Has specific : Colors, plastics, forks, frame, rear disc, seat, etc. makes this a rare and very desirable bike. Next years KX lineup model would change drastically, but some say the '87 model was the BEST of the true vintage KX500's EVER BUILT.
HERE'S WHAT HAS BEEN DONE TO THIS BIKE. Frame stripped, cleaned and repainted correct KX silver. New 1st over Wiseco piston w/fresh bore job. New hot rod, rebuilt crank, w/new crank bearings and crank seals. Steering bearings and races are brand new. New clutch plates. New brake pads, brake fluid & bled, & rotors sanded/cleaned. Original 43mm KYB shock completely rebuilt & restored w/new seals, oil, bumper, nitrogen charge. Forks rebuilt & restored w/fork wipers (no boots for a cleaner look). All new correct '87 only shiney UFO plastics w/original small MX tank (correct '87 one year only). New graphics. New inner fender splash shield. All new correct radiator hoses & clamps. Keihin carb cleaned and rebuilt. New seat cover. New air filter. New Oury grips. New levers. Aluminum handlebars. Nice FMF pipe & silencer. Custom built aluminum rear caliper guard. Acerbis air box cover (green). New cable guides. Newer Renthal sprockets & chain. New wheel bearings front & rear. All new fluids (radiator, trans, forks, shock, etc). Fredette Racing chain guide. Almost new tires (90% tread remaining). KIPS valve cleaned and rebuilt. All Uni-Trak linkage cleaned and rebuilt.

This engine will need a slow 'break in', just as you would a brand new 2-stroke race bike.
