The Government of the Province of Alberta (Canada) 1936 one dollar / .00 Prosperity Certificate with 12 stamps affixed to the reverse.  Date of issue:  August 5, 1936.  Numbered:  A 129535.  The 1936 Social Credit Prosperity Certificate introduced in an attempt to alleviate the effects of the Great Depression.  Signed by Premiere William Aberhart and Provincial Treasurer C. Cockroft.  The majority of Prosperity Certificates were redeemed and destroyed.  Printer is Western Printing & Lithographing Co. Ltd., Calgary.  Measures approximately 6" x 3 1/8" in size.
Has some age toning and creases, otherwise in good presentable condition.  P
